Watched The Notebook for the umpteenth time tonight and cried incessantly like always. Ryan and Rachel make their love story so real, that you can just feel the pain, the love. Just weeks ago, I watched Ryan in Crazy Stupid Love and he has changed tremendously. He's buffer and more handsome even. It's no surprise since The Notebook was released 7 years ago. And I still somehow have hope, though I know it won't happen, for Ryan and Rachel to get back together. The reason why the tearjerker movie struck a deep chord with me is because I've been in Allie's shoes. And it was no picnic. But that was then and I was young and dumb. Now I'm crazily, "smartly" in love.
I recently watched a French movie called "L'Arnacoeur" or "Heartbreaker" in English since there's nothing much to do than calculating students' on-going marks and conduct consultations with them. The movie features Johnny Depp's fiance (?), Vanessa Paradis and charming actor, Romain Duris and it tells viewers about a guy, along with his sister and her husband who break up unhappy couples for a living and they do it professionally. Their method is by seducing the women in relationships to a certain point only; never stepping into the bedroom. Along the way, Romain finds himself falling for his assignment and she too feels the same way. It's a nice rom-com and a different one to the usual movies I watch because this is my first French movie I think. One of the scenes that I love is when they reenact the dance scene from "Dirty Dancing", which is apparently Vanessa Paradis's character's favourite. Though the guy loathes it, he practices his butt off to dance like the late Patrick Swayze in order to charm her.
A guy who forces himself to dance to impress a girl? Yes please.
Ever since final exam ended and my dissertation was approved and received the green light to be hard bounded, I was literally consumed with the feelings of joy and freedom. No more researching and typing and thinking too hard. I finally got the chance to utilize my laptop for other purposes, such as surfing the internet freely and downloading any movie I wanted to see. You'd think I would watch movies with substance and depth, but no, I chose to be silly and dreamy this time. List of chick flicks I've watched in the past few weeks;

After 127 Hours, I was dying for James to humour people again. To see him ripping of his arm and all, was just too gruesome and tragic, not to mention, sad..So yeay for The Highness! I guess it is another "Pineapple Express" from him; minus the drugs and getting high part and yes, the bromance. Probably it is full of dirty, mindless jokes but to be honest, I really don't mind. I need to lighten up!
Plus when James, Natalie, and Zooey get together, I see nothing wrong here :)

I'm always interested to see movie adaptations of books. To compare my initial perception and imagery of the characters and settings with what movie makers came up with and found is what I look forward to do the most. Though sometimes there's the possibility of getting crushed. i.e: Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. (sorry Rpattz fans!)
The "Never Let Me Go" trailer is very promising, having Keira and Carey in it (two British actresses that I love!) And it had already inclined a tinge of sadness in me the first time I viewed it. Just like how I felt when reading the first half of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it just the same as "A Thousand Splendid Suns" even though some people say otherwise. On the other hand, James Franco stars in Eat, Pray, Love as one the few minor characters. He automatically becomes my sole reason to watch it. (okay kidding, not that shallow..)
I love Emma Stone in Superbad and Zombieland! She's funny without even trying. Hard to find that quality now, especially with young actresses like her. Anyway, I've read somewhere that the concept of Easy A's storyline is somewhat inspired by the novel, The Scarlett Letter. Yeay, another movie adaptation from a book. Hey, is it a trend now or something?
And lastly,
I've gotten to know that this is a sequel but I never really get around to watching the first one. Should I? I just want to watch Shia LaBeouf on screen. The last time was Transformers 2 and him playing this dramatic role is something I feel like I need to see. Because sometimes when I see him, I still have the image of Even Stevens in my head. Do you remember that show? I loved it!

I've got 5 movies in my must-watch list. Now who's really gonna bring me? :p
After swooning (I've been doing this quite an awful lot lately) over Alex O'Loughlin in The Back-up Plan, which had me seeing him in a totally different light after Moonlight, I thought of checking out another romantic story which is Leap Year. Andd...now I'm after Matthew Goode. Sorry, can't help myself. I'm a sucker for English accents; Irish, British, Cockney...They say French is the sexiest, well it doesn't do much for me. English is the best he he.
It's funny and heartwarming at the same time and it has a lot to do with the term "carpe diem". And taking that leap of faith. I don't know if I'm bold enough to attempt Amy Adams' action if I were in her shoes. But that's what makes faith what it is. Trust your instincts and act on it. Have a little faith like they say. Though it doesn't promise you a happy ending every time, it does give the sense of relief you'll feel instead of the urge to kick yourself when you do not "leap" at all.
Here's a funny scene I found. I love Goode's acting. He's funny without trying too hard. Would love to post the ending scene but couldn't find it. This'll do :)
I love this movie. It's set in the '80's and around that time, the environment, the people, the culture were something else. And I love Jesse Eisenberg. Something about them curly-haired boys, they just tickle my fancy. Not too mention, adorable!
If you're a fan of Kirsten Stewart's or Zombieland, I recommend you to watch this movie. It'll give you a nice feeling afterwards... though Amer despised it so much that he deleted it from his laptop because he got disturbed by the older guy-younger girl relationship between Ryan Reynolds (HOT!) and K. Stew. Yes, it is kinda icky and Ryan is such a jerk in the movie but always the boy-meets-girl and they fall in love plot will triumph in the end. :)
Okay, gonna watch Adventureland for the fourth time now.
